What do you drink when you’ve been in a heatwave for several days and just don’t want another glass of water? That’s right, a nice icy, sweet, tart glass of watermelon limeade. I’ve been craving this lately so I thought today was the day. Advertisements
Texturized Soy Protein (TSP) can be a daunting ingredient to work with. I’ve had a bag in my cabinet for about a year now, waiting for the perfect use to present itself to me. Don’t get me wrong, I like using TSP. I’m inspired to use TSP. I have ideas for using TSP. But I’ve […]
I just love all of the flavors in a Greek salad. The crisp sweetness of the peppers, cucumbers, red onion and tomatoes as well as the tangy, salty olives and creamy feta cheese are a joy for the taste buds. Not to mention the deliciousness of a good garlicky, lemony Greek dressing with fresh oregano.
This past weekend we piled into the car for a journey to Lawrence Farms Orchard to pick our own strawberries, snap peas and greens! I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile and though it was a long drive, it was an awesome experience. Connecting with where your food actually comes from is so important […]
I’ve only recently started eating my tofu scrambled. Until a few months ago I would just cook up some eggs for breakfast on the weekend. Eggs were one of the two things that I thought I would never be able to give up in order to become a plant-based eater (the other was real butter). […]

Just picked these up at the farmers market and wanted to share, just because they’re so pretty.
Oatmeal has always been a favorite of mine for breakfast, especially during the colder months. Lately I’ve been playing with other grains, though. I think that cracked wheat (bulgur) really works well for breakfast. It works nearly the same way as oatmeal does. Add some liquid, some dried fruit and maybe some nuts and voila. […]
*Disclaimer: I’m not a baker, I’m a chef. I’ve been playing with baking more and more and have found this recipe successful and so, I’m sharing it. I’ve been working on making my own bread for a few months now. And while I cannot say that I’ve been super successful (at least in my mind), […]
When I was a meat eater I used to love a good Carolina style BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Tangy sweet BBQ topped with a cool, creamy coleslaw just hit all the right taste notes. And while I’m not a huge fan of the ‘fake meat’ concept, this is one I had to do. I’ve used […]
